[YouTube] The first ever iPad DJ?

It was only a matter of time before Job's latest folly was taken upon in this way I suppose;

This is using 2 x iPads, a VST version of Korg's electribe series and a basic mixer to demonstrate the ease of use of DJing in this way.

It's a nice idea and overall a really exciting video if you're geek minded. Good to see people using the iPad as a workable alternative to The Lemur, at a fraction of the price.

Unique 3's Original Mix features the trademark amounts of Bleeps, Bass & Beats, set into by a 4/4 rhythm box beat, cut back and forth between downsampled synth hooks before kicking out the jams and diving head first into a real cut & paste cresendo. People!... disappointment don’t even get a look in.

The Remix package hits all genres from Breaks to House and back to Techno with a special delivery from winner of the Noble Peace Prize for services to electronica Dr. Si Begg, Twisty-glitchmonger Milanese (Planet Mu/ Warp), Mutate’s in-house knobtwiddin’ beat-baker; Cakeboy, Those hot potatoes on the Digi House Scene: monstr, and scene stealer, it-boy, odd job man (call him what you will) Jedeye... oh! and not forgetting the absolutely cone blowing mix by Mutate's Underpass (whose remix Unique 3 has been playing constantly since it landed) all bringing their own heavily characterised tweak on Unique 3‘s bass busting fresh original.

The artwork (courtesy of Bobzilla @ Tubbyphunk Design Studios) has already been banned (!) from the two largest download sites – Bollox! To them we say! Find all the aforementioned audio and it’s rather tasteless art at a ballsy download store near you ..

Go on! ... Get yerself some Mutate Love …

[Tune/Mix] Ivory - Hand Grenade + Deekline & Ivory DJ Mix (Rat records)

Ivory is set to release his album ‘Jack In the Box’ (produced by Wizard with collabs from Deekline, Fresh, Ivory and Breakfastaz) on RAT RECORDS. Prior to that his single ‘Hand Grenade’ is set to drop..

‘Hand Grenade’ is a rocket-fuelled adrenalin shot of blistering bass and earth-shattering drums, topped off with the hi-octane lyricism of Ivory, the super-sharp-shooter MC whose scattershot fusion of diverse influences is set to see him stride out of the South London underground to claim his rightful spot at the pinnacle of the indie rave scene.

This youthful, Brixton-born motor-mouth grew up on a diet of jungle, old skool rave, UK garage and punk, diverse forms which have been fused with surgical precision into a fresh and vibrant sound that fits 2010 like a velvet glove. ‘Hand Grenade’, the lead single from Ivory's forthcoming debut album, ‘Jack In The Box’, is street level sonic chicanery that recalls prime era Prodigy with added ghetto attitude.

Heads out there will recognise the supreme technical prowess of sound engineer Wizard on the knobs and dials, while on the flip, 22-year old Canadian Excision turns in a heavy-as-all-hell, no-holds-barred powerslam of a remix which shows exactly why he's been making such a big name for himself across north America and beyond with his hip-hop-infused dubstep style.

The full Ivory album, which arrives in June 2010, features collaborations with underground EDM legends such as Deekline, Fresh and the Breakfastaz. Hold tight for some serious weapons of mass destruction, which are set to blow up dancehalls across the nation.

As a taster, we have the track 'No Cure' to give away;

[Tune/Mix] DJ Godfather ft. Omega - Ghetto Electro (Giant Pussy) (Electro/ghetto tech/sleaze)

Feb 15 sees the release of the ghettotech anthem: DJ GODFATHER ft DJ OMEGA – GHETTO ELECTRO on Giant Pussy, already getting plays on Kissy Sell Out’s Radio 1 show.

Blazing a trail into the new decade, Giant Pussy have snaffled none other than DJ Godfather’s Ghettotech anthem: Ghetto Electro. DJ Omega’s vocal rides the tight Detroit beats and bass in a booty-shaking ass-whipping monster of a record.

And on remix duty, the mighty Nom De Strip, delivers his strongest remix to date. A battle-weapon in both Tim Healey and Deekline’s DJ sets, the ripping bassline and effortless funky groove will drive you till the dawn.

Next up, following his hugely successful electro-house debut in 2009, German hip-hop supremo TAI, (aka Tai Jason) carves up the original in his inimitable style: and unleashes a monster Liberace-esque piano break guaranteed to turn any party on its head, before demolishing the dance-floor with more bass to-die-for.

And to celebrate this new release we have a DJ mix from Giant Pussy label owner Tim Healey which features both house remixes by heavyweight producers: NOM DE STRIP and hip-hop legend, TAI... and super cool ‘GHETTO ELECTRO’

Tim Healey DJ Mix

1) DJ GODFATHER ft DJ OMEGA – GHETTO ELECTRO – Nom De Strip Remix (GIANT PUSSY RECORDS)
2) CHRIS CHEVAL ft ALLSTARS – DROP IT (TIME RECORDS)
3) LAZR TAG - NEVER GONNA STOP (LAZR TAG RECORDS)
4) PHOTOGRAPH – DR STRANGELOVE (GUNG HO!)
5) DJ GODFATHER ft DJ OMEGA – GHETTO ELECTRO – TAI Remix (GIANT PUSSY RECORDS)
